Zelpha Mae (Goodman) Davenport

Funeral services for Zelpha Mae Davenport were held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, Oct 23, 2012 at the East Main Church of Christ in Davis with Brother Alan Eck officiating. Interment followed in the Green Hill Cemetery.

Zelpha was born on Oct 3, 1932 at Lightning Ridge, OK to the late Obadiah & Cora Dell (Helems) Goodman. She died Friday, October 19, 2012 in Davis at the age of 80 years and 16 days. Zelpha and Charles Edward Davenport were married on June 15, 1953 in Ada, OK.

Zelpha was a 1951 graduate of Sulphur High School. She spent her life providing a loving home for her family. In earlier years, Zelpha enjoyed fishing and camping. Most recently she enjoyed going for rides with Charles, looking for deer in the park and observing nature.

Survivors include her husband Charles; daughter, Sharon Davenport of Davis; sons, Charles Kent Davenport & wife Kay of Davis and John Lee Davenport & wife Wendy of Holdenville, OK; sister, Wyvonne of Sulphur; five grandchildren, Jessica Wright, Jeffrey & Michael Paschen, Loryn Hamilton and Cody Davenport; 4 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; 5 brothers, Julius, Russell, Stanley, Carrol and Joe; five sisters, Maggie, Lucille, Helen, Pauline and an infant baby sister.

Serving as pallbearers were Eddie, Larry, Mike, Kevin & David Davenport and Steve Johnson.

Service’s were entrusted to HALE’S FUNERAL HOME, DAVIS.
