William Ray "Bill" Griffin

August 8, 1945 — December 13, 2021

William Ray “Bill” Griffin was born August 8, 1945, in Dallas, TX, to the late Owen Ray and Paula Joe (Littrell) Griffin. He died Monday, December 13, 2021, in Ada, OK, at the age of 76 years, 4 months, and 5 days. Bill and the former Ms. Bonieta (Farmer) Reed were united in marriage on October 15, 2009, in Ada, and made their home in Stratford, OK.

The earlier years of Bill’s life were spent in Arkansas, prior to moving to the Dallas area. Growing up in Dallas, Bill graduated from Bryan Adams High School, Class of 1962. Much of his adult life was spent working as a sales manager for the Bob Hayes Chevrolet Dealership in Duncanville, TX.

Bill wasted no part of life. He lived each day to its fullest, enjoying everything and everyone he could. In earlier years, Bill spent every opportunity he had hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time at deer camp, in the company of his dear friend David Rivers, and several other fellow hunting buddies. It was during his many hunting and fishing trips that lifelong memories were made, which he continued to relive and share right up to the time of his death.

Being the outdoors person that he was, time spent with family riding ATV’s, gardening, and simply being outdoors, brought him immense pleasure and happiness. He was very devoted to his family. His love and admiration for his wife and family was unwavering.

Those left to cherish him memory include his loving wife Bonieta; three children, Jennifer Keetch & husband Wes of Mansfield, TX, Will Woods & wife Leslie of Argyle, TX, and Lorri Leonard & husband Jim of Lincolnton, GA; two step-daughters, Jenny Hunt & husband Jason of Stratford, OK, and Becky Hale & husband Rhett of Dougherty, OK; nine grandchildren, Taylor Woods & Jason, Mallory Keetch, Hannah Keetch, Tanner Keetch, Jack Woods, Madison Martinez, McCoy Martinez, Ryan Hunt and Dalton Hunt; as well as, one sister, Linda Bowen.

Preceding Bill in death were his wife Lorraine Griffin on April 9, 2003; and his uncle and aunt, Bill & Geneva Veal, who raised him.
