Graveside services for Wanda Jean Knapp will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis with Brother Thomas J. Thompson officiating.
Wanda was born October 8, 1942 in Antlers, OK to the late Henry & Irene (Dye) Smith. She died Monday, April 30, 2018, in Sulphur, at the age of 75. Wanda and Tom Jack Knapp, Jr. were married on January 23, 1965 in Paris, TX. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2011.
Wanda grew up in Antlers, where she graduated from high school. Following their marriage, she and Tom Jack made their home in Davis. Wanda spent 45+ years working as an insurance agent, owning the Davis Insurance Co. Due to failing health, she was forced to retire in 2015.
Wanda was a very outgoing, classy lady, with her quick wit being second to none. She was very active in the Davis community. Whether it was serving with the Davis Chamber of Commerce, the Davis Business & Professional Women’s Club or other civic organizations, Wanda Knapp was always there volunteering to help others. She was always known for bringing a laugh to any group she was surrounded by. She enjoyed life and worked hard to encourage others to do the same.
In her spare time, Wanda enjoyed fishing, painting, reading and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Davis.
Survivors include two sons, Tom Aaron Knapp and Jack Darren Knapp, both of Davis; ten grandchildren; brother in-law & sister in-law, Jim & Judy Clemons of Davis; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Wanda was preceded in death by her two sisters, Vivian Hargrave Hanni & Ivy Lou Smith; as well as her five brothers, Neil Smith, Harold Smith, Bill Smith, Lyle Smith and Richard Smith.
