Funeral services for Valton Vernon Corley were held 11:00 AM, on Monday, August 22, 2022, at Hale’s Memorial Chapel, in Sulphur, with Pastor Tom Hefley officiating.
Valton was born October 23, 1935, in Sulphur, to the late John Clement & Maude Belle (Hutton) Corley. He died Monday, August 15, 2022, in Sulphur, at the age of 86 years, 9 months, & 23 days.
Valton grew up in Sulphur. After graduating from Sulphur High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, devoting four years of his life to the service of our country. Valton spent several years working for Haliburton in Davis, and later Bell Helicopters in Texas. He was rather skilled in electricity and enjoyed doing electrical work. Valton was an avid sports fan, with his loyalty being to the Dallas Cowboys. He was very much up to date on current politics, courtesy of Fox News, and expressed his views often.
Survivors include one brother, J.C. Corley & wife Tommie, of Sulphur; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as a very dear friend, Janet Thomas of Sulphur
In addition to his parents, Valton was preceded in death by two sisters, Patty Harris and Evelyn Gracy.
Services are “Entrusted To” HALE’S Funeral Home of Sulphur, OK.
