Urban E. Wiser
Bud was born July 22, 1933 in Sand Springs, OK to the late Urban Sylvester & Opal L. (Smith) Wiser. He died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at his home in Sulphur. Bud and Edna Constien were married on Sept 23, 1956 in Long Beach, CA.
Bud grew up in New Mexico. After graduating from Deming High School in 1952, Bud enlisted in the US Navy on Jun 18, 1952 and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged from the Navy on May 24, 1956. Bud spent his career in telecommunications. He worked 32 years in telephone installations for Western Electric Co, later known as AT&T and currently as Lucent Technologies. Bud and Edna have made their home in Sulphur for the past 25 years, coming from Hinton and Choctaw prior to that.
In his spare time, Bud enjoyed fishing, carpentry/remodeling, camping and studying the Bible. Bud was a faithful member of the Faith Center Church, where he volunteered his time maintaining the facilities.
Survivors include his loving wife Edna; daughter, Dawn Hernandez of Sulphur; two sons, Mark Wiser of Sulphur & Burke Wiser of Ada; two grandsons, Jaime D. Hernandez & Gabriel E. Hernandez, both of Sulphur; as well as three sisters, Lillian Wright of Anson, TX, Doris Jarvis of Miami, FL and Lois Madsen of Logan, UT.
Along with his parents, Bud was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Wiser.
