Tommy Ray Tuley, Jr.

Tommy Ray “Tom” Tuley, Jr. was born February 18, 1948 in Oakland, CA. He passed away on January 24, 2021 in Ada, OK.

Tom served in the United States Air Force Missile Division from 1967 to 1971, stationed in Okinawa, Japan and Missouri. Upon receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Air Force, he returned to California, settling in the Castro Valley area. Tom was an Alameda County Health Officer for 25 years, until his retirement in 1999. In 2000, he moved to Hennepin, OK to be a rancher. He loved baseball, especially the Oakland Athletics. Tom enjoyed watching Westerns, old movies, cooking programs and listening to music. He was also very proud of his Chickasaw heritage.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Tommy Ray and LaVerne Tuley, Sr; and one daughter, Rebecca Tuley Herrick.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years Louise Tuley; two daughters, Nicole Tuley-Pino & husband Jared of Springfield, OR, and Christine Elliott of San Leandro, CA; son-in-law, Greg Herrick & wife Karen; grandchildren, Quinn Herrick, Jack Herrick and Emilee Barnes, all of Lathrop, CA; sister, Kathleen Hatmaker of Sulphur, OK; two brothers, David Tuley & wife Alexia and Robert Tuley & wife Annette, both of San Lorenzo, CA; lifelong friends Ken Benotti and wife Donna of Greensboro, NC, and Gary Harter and wife Teri of Fall Creek, OR; as well as several nieces, nephews and other family members.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, a memorial service celebrating Tom’s life will be held at a later date.
