Tommie Sue Thompson was born August 15, 1942 in Ada, OK. She died Wednesday, December 11, 2019 in Davis, at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 27 days. Tommie and Jimmy Doyle “Bones” Thompson were married on December 27, 1958 in Marietta, OK. He preceded her in death on December 14, 2003.
Tommie grew up in the Sulphur area, graduating from Sulphur High School. She spent several years working at First Oklahoma Bank & Trust in Sulphur, prior to serving as the Murray County Court Clerk. Later, she owned and operated the SureCheck Brokerage Firm in Ardmore before joining the staff at the Oklahoma Blood Institute in Ardmore. Prior to retirement, Tommie worked for Dr. Randy Williams of Sulphur.
Tommie was a very straight forward individual and always wore a smile on her face. She was a very devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She was their number one cheerleader in all they did. Tommie was known to be a shopaholic. She believed in shopping on any day that ended in Y. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, watching MASH telethons and Judge Judy; as well as, Live PD.
Survivors include her daughter, Alisha Hunt and spouse Randal Kirby; granddaughter, Whitney Seeley & husband Skip; grandson, Tanner Hunt & wife Jordan; as well as her two great-grandsons, Jagger Seeley and Teegan Hunt, all of Sulphur.
In addition to her husband, Tommie was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings, including her sister Lilly Shockley.
Per Tommie's wishes, a private graveside funeral services for family only, will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur, with Larry Seeley officiating.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tanner Hunt, Skip Seeley, Jagger Seeley, Teegan Hunt, Marlon Kinney and Randal Kirby.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
