Thomas Ray Wiedman

July 29, 1946 — September 2, 2019

Thomas Ray “Tom” Wiedman was born July 29, 1946 in El Reno, OK to the late Frank Thomas & Betty Lou (Soward) Wiedman. He died Monday, September 2, 2019 in Sulphur, at the age of 73 years; following a 13-year battle with cancer.

Tom was a resident of Sulphur, OK for a total of 30 years, as well as California, Texas and Florida. He was a graduate of Newcastle High School in 1964. After high school, he attended Cisco Jr. College in Cisco, TX and later in life Motorcycle/Marine Mechanic Institute in Daytona Beach, FL. Tom was known for being a Master Mechanic/Independent Contractor (often pro-bono) who could fix anything, loved everyone and lived life to its fullest. He was care free and had a comical story to share with those around him. He loved music, fishing (at the lake, “fishing hole” or off the coast of the Florida Keys). Tom was a very vibrant, spirited individual, who had a passion for rescuing not only four, but two legged friends. His door was always open for those in need.

Survivors include three children, Tonya Lynn Arceneaux (Frank) of Austin, TX, Tony Ray Wiedman of Beaumont, TX and Stefanie Wiedman of Sulphur, OK (formally Connecticut); as well as one brother, Jerry Wiedman (Rosalind) of Livingston, TX, maternal aunts Ruth (Soward) Moore (Joe) and Anna Rose (Soward) Wilkins (Gerald) of Blanchard, OK. Not to mention many loyal, long-time friends who supported him before and through-out his cancer battle.

Tom was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Sulphur, OK. Per his request, no “formal” service will be held to mourn his death; rather, a “celebration of his life” will be held at a later date.
