Thelma Diana Johnson, better known as Diana, was born October 4, 1948, in Russellville, AR to the late Audrey “Aud” and Mary Geneva (Heath) Garner. She died Thursday, August 26, 2021, in Ardmore, at the age of 72 years 10 months and 22 days. She and Billy Dean “Bill” Johnson were married on October 30, 1992, in Oklahoma City.
Moving from Arkansas to Oklahoma as a young girl, the family settled in the Woodland area. Following her 1967 graduation from Woodland High School, she married. From this marriage was born two children, Alex and Anita. Diana spent 30+ years working as a scale clerk for the MPI rock crush, later becoming Martin-Marietta, retiring in December 2015.
Diana was an avid reader and loved being outdoors. She had a love for animals, and in her spare time, she enjoyed quilting. Diana was very devoted to her family. She cherished spending time with each of them, especially her beloved granddaughter, Audrey.
Survivors include her husband, Bill; daughter, Anita Renee’ Brassfield; son, Alex Brassfield & wife Kelli; granddaughter, Audrey Rae Brassfield, all of Hennepin; sister, Barbara Tabor of Fort Myers, FL; three step-children, Howard Johnson & wife Sandy, Phillip Johnson & wife Deana, and Rhonda Swann, all of Oklahoma City; as well as numerous step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Diana was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Ray Garner; and two stepsons, Lee Edward Johnson, and David Leon Johnson.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 31,2021 at the Hennepin Cemetery, with Pastor Roger Sims officiating.
