Terry Jon Blevins was born July 31, 1962, in Sulphur, to Jackson Roy “Cub” and Harriette (Gay) Blevins. He died Friday, November 19, 2021, in Sulphur, at the age of 59 years, 3 months and 19 days.
Terry, better known by his friends as “Sheriff,” grew up in Mill Creek, prior moving to Turney, MO. In 1981, he welcomed his first son, Travis, into the world. In 1983, he moved to Davis, where he met Claudia Johnson, whom he married on December 17, 1985. From this marriage were born two children, Brittany, and Michael.
Terry spent several years working as a roughneck in the oil field, prior to doing concrete
Construction. Later he began working as a loader operator for McCabe Industrial Mineral, west of Davis, where he was employed at the time of his death.
Terry was a free spirited individual and was always up for a good time. He was known for his daredevilish/rebel approach to life. He loved spending time with his family and friends, which typically included a few pranks, several jokes and lots of laughs. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, bicycles, and spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and shooting guns.
Survivors include one daughter, Brittany Uhles & husband Bobby of Ada; two sons, Travis Strickler of Louisianna and Michael Blevins of Pauls Valley; nine grandchildren, Zoey, Paige, Travis, Jaxson, Beau, Thayne, Imre, Eathan, Archer and Kolt; his mother, Harriette Cottrell & husband Floyd of Davis; his best friend and mother of his two youngest children, Claudia Blevins of Wynnewood; siblings, Dale Fondren of Davis, Casey Blevins of Missouri; Callie Jo Blevins of Missouri; Liz McClure of Sulphur, Pam Craig of Texas and David Cottrell of Davis; and step-mother, Judy Blevins.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Cub Blevins; brother, Royce Blevins; stepfather, Ed Branch; grandparents, Edith & Orvan Hubbard and Royce & Mildred Gay; and siblings, Eddie Branch and Doug Branch.
Graveside funeral services were held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis, with Brother Billy Staggs and Randy Wade officiating.
