Syble Louise (Coffman) Brown
Syble Louise Coffman Brown was born to Girald & Hazel Coffman on March 28,1938 at Springer, OK in the Arbuckle Mountains and went to her heavenly home on October 28, 2024, in Norman, OK. She married Jim Brown on August 31, 1956, and they were married for 56 years until his passing in 2012.
Syble and Jim made their home and raised their family in the Roady community SE of Wynnewood. Everybody loved her country cooking, especially her buttermilk biscuits and fried chicken. In the summer, half of the kitchen table was covered in fresh vegetables from their garden and Syble would proudly display the quarts of vegetables she had worked so hard to can. In addition to gardening and cooking, Syble enjoyed sewing and crocheting. There was not a coffee table or a side table in her home that didn't have a doily she had crocheted laying on top of it.
Later in life Syble took up piano and loved to play gospel music. She was raised in the Pentecostal church and would tell her family to "Obey God's Laws". Syble was one of a kind and will be deeply missed.
Syble is survived by her daughter, Patricia Martin, son, James Quenton Brown and wife Michele and daughter Angela Brown; seven grandchildren, Diana Martin, Stephanie Stevenson, Sarah Martin, Brandy Klein (David), Matthew Brown (Ashley), Megan Brown, and Jacob Brown; eight great-grandchildren, Emily, Jett, Rayairra, Jace, Macy, Colten, Cameron, and Corbin; and one great-great-granddaughter, Evangeline Louise.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; six brothers and sisters, Paul Coffman, Douglas Coffman, Christine Mattingly, Barabara Jack, Warren Coffman, and Odessa Trout; Half- brother, John Edward Coffman, and half- sister, Minnie Mae Marr. One son-in-law, Stephen Ray Martin.
