Steven Grant Billy

Graveside services for Steven Grant “Steve” Billy will be held 10:00AM, Friday, May 4, 2018 at the Dougherty Cemetery with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr officiating.

Steve was born July 6, 1962 in Sulphur, OK to the late Jackson Walter “JW” and Karen Jan (Lucas) Billy. He died Tuesday, May 01, 2018 in Davis, at the age of 55 years 10 months and 25 days. Steve and the former Ms. Deloris Raye Brooks were married on October 26, 1979 in Dougherty.

Steve grew up in the Davis/Dougherty area. Throughout his working career he worked as a welder for area rock quarries, as well as did carpentry work. For the past twelve years, he had worked for the City of Dougherty water department. Steve was a very kind hearted man. He was the type that would give you the shirt off his back if someone needed it. Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing volley ball and horseshoes with family and friends. He was an avid reader, keeping his current western novel close by.

Survivors include his wife Deloris; one daughter, Jana Miller & husband Joe; one son, Josh Billy, all of Dougherty; four brothers, Monte Ken Billy & wife Jackie of Dougherty, Walter Billy & wife Burla of Sulphur, Dean Billy & wife Cheryl of Sulphur and Teddy Billy of Marietta; one sister, Tiffany Sewel & husband Chris of Davis; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by one brother, Emmit David Billy in 2012.
