Stephen G. Johnson

We remember Stephen (Steve) G. Johnson, whose spirit departed from us on December 13, 2024, at the age of 69, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Steve was born on March 20, 1955, to Alton and Vera (Stephens) Johnson in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Steve grew up in Davis and attended Davis High School. After high school Steve joined the United States Air Force working with C-130's and achieved the rank of Technical Sergeant upon discharge. He then began his career in oil field trucking. On Christmas day in 1994, Steve, his brother Terry, and 2 nephews BJ and Boone, began H2S Safety Plus, which he left in 2007. Steve continued working for various oil field trucking companies until his health forced him to retire.

Steve reconnected with the love of his life Becky and married May 2, 1996, in Gainesville, TX. They have lived in Wilburton, OK since 2007, where they have been an active role in their community.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of the home Becky Johnson of Wilburton, OK; daughter Toni (Greg) Kubica of Yukon, OK; brother Terry Johnson of Sulphur, OK; bonus children he loved dearly Joe Zeppa of Sulphur, OK; David Rives of Norman, OK; and Stella Rives of Edmond, OK; granddaughter Haley (Austin) Cooper of Broken Arrow, OK; granddaughter Mackenzie Tompkins of Broken Arrow, OK; granddaughter Madison and grandson Bryden of Yukon, OK; great-grandson Memphis; and loved nephews and nieces.

Preceded in death by his parents Alton and Vera Johnson and sister Connie Woods.

Steve's hobbies included hunting, fishing, and spending time with his loved ones. Steve never met a stranger, and he was always willing to help anyone in need.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 4th, 2025 in Sulphur, OK.
