Sherri Lorie (Hood) Wright

Funeral services for Sherri Lorie (Hood) Wright will be held 10:00AM, Monday, July 8, 2019 at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Sulphur with Pastor Bill Leveridge officiating. Interment will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.

Sherri was born November 25, 1959 in Ada, OK to Carl W. and Rubylee (Storts) Hood. She died Tuesday, July 2, 2019 in Sulphur, at the age of 59.

Sherri grew up in Sulphur, graduating from Sulphur High School, Class of 1978. Following high school, she spent 38 years working as a customer service representative for U.S. Silica in Mill Creek. Sherri was a very loving and devoted grandmother. She traveled near and far cheering them on at all their sporting events. In younger years, she was an award-winning barrel racer. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, riding ATVs and taking road trips with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Everett “Charlie” Wright; two daughters, Tiffany Sands of Sulphur and Patience Dudley & husband Josh of Davis; one son, Charles Wright & wife Meagan of Sulphur; mother, Rubylee Brown & husband Dale of Sulphur; father, Carl Hood of Sulphur; six grandchildren, Blakelee & Tenlee Sands, Hadie & Rhett Dudley and Shaylee & Cash Wright; as well as numerous cousins.

Sherri was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Loreda Price and ZY Storts; and her paternal grandparents, Paw & Maw Hood.

Serving as pallbearers will Terry Flowers, Joe Don Runyan, Kent McKinley, Mark Davis, Josh Dudley and Chuck Wofford. Honorary bearers will be Rhett Dudley, Cash Wright, Duriel Flowers, Chris Stewart, Jeremy Wilkins, Ronald Aduddell and the Sulphur High School Class of 1978.
