Sandra Darlene "Sandy" Chronister

April 7, 1947 — April 29, 2022

Funeral services for Sandra Darlene “Sandy” Chronister will be held 2:00PM, Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the First Baptist Church, in Davis, with Pastors Lance Whaley and Tony Randol officiating. Interment will follow at the Hennepin Cemetery.

Sandy was born April 7, 1947, in Madera, California to the late Arvil Keith and Maggie Paralie (Sanders) Dixon. She passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022, in Davis, at the age of 75 years and 22 days. Sandy and Danny T. Chronister were married on September 8, 1964, in Hennepin.

As a child, Sandy made her home in several communities, prior to settling in Davis. Some of her fondest childhood memories were made while living in Gruver, TX. For the first few years of their marriage, Sandy spent her time creating a loving home environment for her beloved husband and son, Danny Ray. In the late 1970’s, she decided to attend cosmetology school to become a hair stylist. After a few years of hair styling, Sandy decided to return to her most cherished position in life, and that was being a wife and mother. She devoted the rest of her life caring for beloved family.

Sandy was the type of individual that made life fun. She had a kind soul with a streak of orneriness. She was always up for a good time and was constantly keeping those around her laughing. Sandy was an avid fan of stock car racing and in younger years was known to be a talented bowler.

Survivors include her husband, Danny; one son, Danny Ray Chronister & wife Lisa of Davis; three grandchildren, Cassandra Bufkin & husband Tripp of Davis, Daniel Lance Chronister of Davis, and Jennifer Smith of Sulphur; one great-grandson, Kahner Bufkin of Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sandy was eagerly awaiting the birth of her first great-granddaughter in September.

In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by four sisters, Wanda Wilson, Flossie Boyd, Betty Herndon, and Mary Graves: and one brother, Floyd Dixon.
