Richard Wayne Mcnett

Graveside services for Richard Wayne McNett will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis with Bryan Pullen officiating.

Richard was born January 21, 1931 in Webb City, Oklahoma to the late Edgar R. & Alice C. (Punches) McNett. He died Tuesday, November 10, 2020 in Oklahoma City at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 19 days. Richard and the former Ms. Clara Imogene McKinney were united in marriage on August 30, 1950 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma.

At the early age of 19, Richard began a career in the oil field industry working with Phillips Petroleum. After 35+ years with Phillips, Richard retired in the late 1980’s and moved to Davis, where he and Clara enjoyed their retirement years. Early in their retirement years, they enjoyed traveling and camping with family and friends. Richard’s most favorite pastime during retirement was working on bicycles. He was a very devoted husband, making sure Clara was always taken care of.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Clara; two daughters, Deborah Townsley of Davis and Pamela Zajac & husband Edward of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Jackie Townsley, Jimmy Townsley, Jody Ashley & wife Brenda, Jared Ashley & wife Taylor, Vanessa Scheiwer & husband Scott and Meagan Zajac & husband Jesse; eleven great-grandchildren, Jagger Townsley, Jacob Townsley, Jay Townsley, Brantley Zajac, Jett Ashley, Jace Ashley, Georgia Ashley and Evelyn Ashley; three great-great grandchildren, Jonas Ashley, Brodie Townsley and Greyson Townsley; one sister, Edna Grace of Blackwell, OK; as well as seven nephews and two nieces.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by one grandson, Richard Carl Ashley; one brother, Marvin McNett; one sister, Effie Keeler; and two nephews, Kenny McNett and Lonnie Grace.
