Richard Allen “Rick” Over, beloved son of Melvin Leroy and Wilma Jean (Awbrey) Over, was born April 4, 1957, in Oklahoma City. He died on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 65. Rick and the former Ms. Carol (McAlister) Paden were married on October 3, 2008, in Oklahoma City.
Rick grew up in the Oklahoma City area, spending his summers in Sulphur with his grandparents. After graduating from Putnam City High School in 1975, he attended OSU Tech in Okmulgee. Rick spent the beginning years of his working career as a machinist, prior to spending 25 years working for Central Plastics. His final six years of his career, was spent with Agru America, working in sales and tech-support in the polyethylene pipe fitting industry.
Rick was a very active and devote member of the Council Road Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. He assisted within the church anywhere he could. He was an avid gun enthusiast and enjoyed competitive long range pistol shooting. He also enjoyed all types of sportscars. One of his favorite hobbies was making sand plum jelly, which he shared with his beloved family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Paden; his mother, Wilma Jean Over of Oklahoma City; two sons, Whitney Over & wife Callie of Broken Arrow, and Noah Timothy Over & wife Mikaela of Boston; four stepchildren, John Paden, Zach Paden, Kathryn Paden, and Robert Paden; four grandchildren, Svea, Aeson, Arya and Ulysses; as well as one brother, Steven Over & wife Linda of Colleyville, TX.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Over on February 14, 2019.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30AM, on Monday, November 21, 2022, in the chapel of Council Road Baptist Church at 2900 N. Council Road, in Oklahoma City. A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2022, at the Oaklawn Cemetery, in Sulphur.
Service are “entrusted to” Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.
