Funeral services for Rhonda Josephine Garlick were held 2:00PM, Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the First Love Pentecostal Holiness Church in Sulphur with the Reverend Lois Blanka officiating.
Rhonda was born February 12, 1933 in Ashtola, TX to the late Thomas Lloyd & Maybelle (Woolsey) Speir. She died Monday, October 23, 2017 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 84 years, 8 months & 11 days.
Rhonda, a 1950 graduate of Clarendon High School, spent the earlier years of her life in the Lower Rio Grande Valley and Clarendon. In the early 1960, she moved to Tulsa and worked at the St. Francis Hospital. It was while working at St. Francis that she met her soon to be husband, Darrell Garlick. They were married on May 15, 1964 in Tulsa. Rhonda owned and operated Rhonda’s Ceramics in Tulsa for 17 years. She was an avid crafter and enjoyed ceramics, painting, doll making, sewing and jewelry making. In 1995, she and Darrell retired and moved to Sulphur.
Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Mizell & Mickey Miles of Sulphur; as well as three brothers, Cecil Speir of Vernon, TX, Bob Speir of Dallas, TX and Leon Speir of Forney, TX.
In addition to her parents, Rhonda was preceded in death by her husband Darrell on August 1, 2007 and one brother Bernel Speir.
