Rheka Don Russell

Funeral services for Rheka Don Russell will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the Church of Christ in Wynnewood with her son, Sherman Reed, officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery at Davis.

Rheka was born September 12, 1938 in Joy, Oklahoma to the late Oscar Eugene & Donella (Caldwell) Fox. She died Thursday, April 4, 2019 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 80 years, 6 months and 22 days.

Rheka was a 1956 graduate of Davis High School. Following high school, she served her country by being a faithful military wife for 18 years. Rheka was a devoted mother of three children, Shannon, Sherman & Sherryl. As a single mother, she worked three jobs to provide the very best for her children. Rheka spent 20 years working at the Uniroyal Plant in Ardmore. On August 30, 1980, she married Perry Oden Russell and they were blessed with 32 years of marriage, until his death in September 2012. During their retirement, they made their home just south of Wynnewood. Rheka and Perry spent countless hours tending to their acreage, making sure it was picture perfect at all times.

Rheka was a very kindhearted, gentle lady. She had a servant’s heart, always caring for and helping others. She was a member of the Wynnewood Church of Christ. She cherished spending time with her family and friends; as well as camping and going driving around the area observing God’s beautiful creations.

Survivors include her daughter, Sherryl Edmonds & husband Larry of Oklahoma City; two sons Shannon Reed & wife Paula and Sherman Reed & wife Paula, both of Edmond; one brother, Delford Fox of Davis; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Rheka was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Jean Ratchford & husband Homer and Wandora Fullerton & husband Vandon; two brothers, LaRue Fox and Eugene Fox; as well as one sister-in-law, Virginia Fox.

Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews, Steve Ratchford, Carl Ratchford, Wayne Fox, Danny Fox, Glen Fox and Greg Fox.
