Regena Louise Rogers
Regena Louise Brown Rogers, or as we lovingly knew her, Nikki Rogers was born to Ray Dean and Bernice Brown on September 14, 1946. She passed to her heavenly home on April 5, 2024.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Rogers, and her daughter Mechelle Patlan and son-in-law Francisco "Pancho" Patlan and her other daughter, SaDonna Rogers. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Steven (Shannon) Rogers, Alejandro Patlan, Tristan Patlan, Sarah Minks and Macayla Irwin along with great grandchildren, Ryan Rogers and Emma Rogers, her brothers, Ray Brown and Mark Brown and sister Sue Ellen Brown along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Ron Dillon and numerous brothers and sisters.
Nikki led a rich life. She went by many names including wife, mama, Mama Nik, Nana Nik Nik, grandma, but a favorite was Nikki-Rooney. She was always quick with a smile and an "I love you this day" to all that she loved. She was a great hugger and always made you feel loved. She could always make you feel special. She had a great laugh and a wicked sense of humor, and her blue eyes always held a special twinkle.
Nikki was creative and could take a couple of pinecones and a few twigs and make a masterpiece. People were always amazed at the many crafts she dreamed up. An expert baker, Nikki worked as a pastry chef for many years and her sweets were in demand for many when she worked special events. Her cheesecakes and sugar cookies were always a favorite for all who enjoyed them through the years at parties and family functions. She was generous to a fault sometimes and would give you something on a whim if you mentioned you liked it.
Nikki and Roy were married on April 3, 1993, after being together for many years. Together they built a life filled with love and hard work. They opened two Taco Mayo stores in Oklahoma during the 1990's and worked hard to build their life together. They traveled many miles together and had some great adventures.
Nikki was quick with making those around her feel and see her light and love.
She will be missed. Our world is much dimmer without her here to cheer us on. Even though she is gone from our sight right now, she is but just in another place, waiting for the time we can all be together again.
