Randy Gene Batterton, known by many as "Hillbilly" was born July 19, 1967, in Pauls Valley, OK. He died on Friday, September 20, 2024, in Ardmore, at the age of 57.
Randy grew up in Sulphur, attending Sulphur Public School. At the age of 17, with the consent of his father, he joined the United States Army. After devoting 14 years of loyal service to our country, Randy received an honorable discharge and returned home to Murray County and began a career as a cross-country truck driver. If the trucking industry got slow, Randy often worked for P & M Wrecker Service, operating their truck wreckers. In his spare time, Randy enjoyed fishing, racecars and riding horses.
Survivors include his son, Joshua Vinson & fiancé Kristen Stidham of Davis; daughter, Ashleah Ake of Davis; three grandchildren; stepmom, Julie Batterton; two brothers, Walter Batterton and Shawn Batterton; and two sisters, Mary K Rawls and Sheila Batterton.
Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Mary E. (Nalley) Carter; his father, Randall K. Batterton; and his wife, Cherri Watha (Stidham) Batterton on September 18, 2020.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Hale's Memorial Chapel in Davis, with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr officiating.
