Randell Vernon Hays

July 31, 1956 — September 19, 2023

Randell Vernon “Randy” Hays was born July 31, 1956, in Lubbock, TX, to the late Vernon and Stella Hays. He passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023, in Moyers, OK at the age of 67.

Randy grew up in Arizona and California. After graduating from high school, he moved to Oklahoma to live with his grandpa and grandma Fires and joined the Army National Guards. While living with his grandparents, Randy became a big brother to all his cousins. In addition to serving in the National Guards, he also trained as a mason with his Uncle Butch. Randy then relocated to California with his wife Jackie and one year old daughter to work alongside his father in the cotton industry. Randy worked in the agriculture industry for several years before retiring to Moyers, Oklahoma.

In his spare time, he enjoyed playing the guitar. It is like the guitar was a part of him. He took it everywhere and loved to entertain. Randy also enjoyed riding dirt bikes, UTVS, fishing and anything to do with the mountains or outdoors. Randy’s most favorite thing to do was spend time with his family and friends.

Survivors include the mother of his children, Jackie Hays of Sulphur, OK; his three children, April Curtis & husband Tim of Roff, OK, Broc Hays & wife Tiffany of Tulsa, OK, and Samantha Herrmann & husband Cole of Sulphur, OK; two sisters, Nellie Hays Parks and Trena Hays Gunter, both of Hanford, CA; nine grandchildren, Madison, Kensingtyn & Payton Curtis, Emily, Braxton, Broderick & Benjamin Hays, and Cash & Clara Herrmann; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
