Ramona Kay Davis

Ramona Kay Davis, better known as “Mona”, was born April 6, 1950, in Marlow, OK, to the late James Chester and Evelyn Inez (Smith) Davis. She died on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, in Sulphur, at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 14 days.

Mona grew up in Davis, graduating from Davis High School, Class of 1969. After high school she spent several years working for the Sequoyah Carpet Mills and later Stromberg-Carlson Telecommunications Co. Her final 20+ years of her working career was spent with the Sulphur Veteran’s Center, where she worked in the cafeteria.

Although never having children of her own, Mona absolutely loved and cherished her nieces and nephews, as if they each were her own. She enjoyed spending time with her siblings, crocheting, and reading. Mona had a great love for her beloved dog Ginger.

Mona is survived by two sisters, Linda Pope of Blanchard, OK, and Ladona Shriver of Clayton, GA; one brother, John Paul Davis, of Davis; as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mona was preceded in death by two sisters, Pat Ealey, and Shirley Terry: as well as two brothers, James Davis, and Chester Lee Davis.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Cremation services were entrusted to HALE’S FUNERAL HOME, DAVIS.
