Philip David Edgmon was born February 7, 1942, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Filmore and Wilma Oliver Edgmon. He died on Saturday, September 21, 2024, in Ardmore, at the age of 82.

Philip grew up in Anadarko, graduating from Anadarko High School. He continued his education at Murray State College, in Tishomingo, OK, where he met and married his wife Doris Low Edgmon. Philip received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from East Central University, Ada, OK. He taught classes and was an assistant football and basketball coach in the Holdenville and Guymon school systems prior to moving to Davis, OK. He was employed by Sequoyah Mills, Cooper Auto Stores and Haliburton Services before moving to Oklahoma City. Philip retired from Arrowhead Lumber Sales and shortly afterwards returned to Davis. He was an avid sports fan.

Philip and Doris have two children Chris Edgmon and wife Vickie from Chandler, AZ, and Kim Knapp from Oklahoma City. They have six grandchildren, Blain Knapp, wife Tess and daughter Maggie, Baily Wissinger, husband Casey and daughter Sutton. Max Edgmon, fiancé Jessie and son Landon, Madi Edgmon, Rachel Tilley and husband Austin, and Julia Maranville. He was proceeded in death by his parents and brother Larry Edgmon.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, September 27, 2024, at Hale's Memorial Chapel in Davis, with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr officiating.

Services are "Entrusted To" HALE'S Funeral Home of Davis, OK.
