Funeral services for Perry O. Russell will be held 2:00 PM Friday, Sept 28, 2012 at the Church of Christ in Wynnewood with Sherman Reed officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery at Davis.

Perry was born Oct 10, 1929 in Davis to the late Perry & Birdie (Lewis) Russell. He died Sunday, Sept 23, 2012 in Oklahoma City at the age of 82 years 11 months and 13 days. Perry and Rheka Don (Fox) Reed were married on Aug 30, 1980 in Davis.

After graduating from Davis High School, Perry served in the US Army from June 17, 1948 until he was honorably discharged on May 10, 1950. Early in his career, he worked in the Oil Industry as an offshore driller. Later he returned the area and began working at the Uniroyal Plant in Ardmore. Perry loved to fish, and did so every chance he got. He enjoyed being in the outdoors hunting, fishing, tending his acreage or simply setting by his pond.

Survivors include his wife Rheka Don; sons, David Russell of Ardmore, Shannon Reed & wife Paula and Sherman Reed both of Edmond; daughter, Sherryl Edmonds & husband Larry of Oklahoma City; brother, Joe Russell; sisters, Paula Bruce and Billie Sue Reed; as well as, 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Curtis Stubblefield, Cleo Mauldin, Don Coffey, Chuck Fancher, Euel Lamb, Joe Tom Ayers and Eugene Garrett.

Perry was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Perry Gene Russell; and sister, Mary Lee.
