Pauline Sanders

June 9, 1922 — September 24, 2016

Pauline was born June 9, 1922 in Harden City, OK to the late James Clay and Sarah Elizabeth (Blevins) Cradduck. She died Saturday, Sept 24, 2016 in Sulphur, at the age of 94. In 1945, she and Velmar Sanders were married in Ada. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1986. On Aug 25, 1988, Pauline and Haskell “Skeet” Morris were married in Davis. He preceded her in death on Jan 19, 1998.

Following her marriage to Velmar, they owned and operated a café in Ada for a short time, prior to moving to Davis in 1956, where she worked as a beautician. In 1960, Pauline opened her own shop and spent 30+ years doing hair. She often referred to her job as “twisting hair for the dolls.” She was a very faithful member of the East Main Church of Christ. Whether it was taking meals to people in need or sitting and visiting friends in the nursing homes and hospitals, Pauline was always trying to help others. She loved God and her family. She will be greatly missed. “We love you and don’t you ever forget” was something she always said to her grandchildren, and now they say that to their beloved “MeMaw.”

Survivors include two sons, Larry Sanders & wife Sue of Craig, CO and Gary Sanders & wife Judy of Davis; four grandchildren, Jeremy Sanders & wife Carlene of Craig, CO, Sarah Grippa & husband Fred of Steamboat Springs, CO, Jake Sanders & wife Lisa of Wylie, TX and Joel Sanders & wife Nicole of Rockwall, TX; 11 great-grandchildren, Misty Sanders, Mandy Sanders, Tiffany Schmedeke, Josh Wilde, Whitney Wilde, Jade Peed, Jorin Peed, Garron Sanders, Kara Sanders, Kyle Sanders and Luke Sanders; three great-great grandchildren, Jacob Schmedeke, Hunter Schmedek and Katy Jo Schmedeke; Also surviving Pauline are several nieces and nephews, as well as many neighborhood children that referred to her as their MeMaw.

In addition to his parents and husbands, Pauline was preceded in death by six siblings, George Cradduck, Bertie Sherrell, Dora Jumper, Dovie Byrd, James Arthur Cradduck and J.C. Cradduck.

Serving as pallbearers were Jake Sanders, Joel Sanders, Garron Sanders, Andy Hill, Jerry Payne and Buddy Vinyard.
