Funeral services for Paul Wayne Burleson, Jr. were held 10:00AM, Saturday, Jan 17, 2015 at the Dougherty Baptist Church with Rev. Willard McCartney, Jr officiating. Interment followed in the Dougherty Cemetery.

Paul was born Dec 14, 1961 in Purcell, OK to Paul & Jessie (Barnes) Burleson, Sr. He died Wednesday, Jan 14, 2015 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 53 years & 1 month. Paul & Kathy were married on July 25, 1982 in Dougherty.

Paul grew up in the Oklahoma City area before moving to Ardmore where he graduated from high school in 1980. He spent 28 years working for the City of Ardmore, retiring in 2009 as an operator in the waste water treatment facility. Paul was an avid fisherman, fishing every opportunity he had. Family was of the utmost importance to him, especially his grandchildren. If his grandchildren were involved, Paul was there to support them. He enjoyed collecting items such as rare antique fishing lures, coins and knives, passing those collections to his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Kathy; sons, Jeff Burleson & wife Amy of Dougherty and Bradley Burleson & wife Randi of Sulphur; five grandchildren, Logan, Kelsey, Johnathon, Hunter & Aiden Burleson; parents, Lonnie & Jessie Martin of Davis; five sisters, Connie Koch, Tammy Jones & Deanna Vaughn, all of Sulphur, Loretta Beverly of Madill and Paula Beason of Lexington, OK; two brothers, Steven & Roy Burleson, both of Lexington.

Paul was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Burleson and his grandfather, Jess Barnes.

Serving as pallbearers were Scott Sanford, Steve Johnston, RL Beverly, Curtis Beverly, Jerry Vaughn & Kyle Koch.
