Paul Elton Gray
Funeral services for Paul Elton Gray will be held 2:00PM, Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Sulphur with Brother Charles Craig officiating. Interment will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.
Paul was born December 27, 1933 in Sulphur to the late Melvin Clinton & Effie May (Shrum) Gray. He died Monday, October 2, 2017 in Ada, at the age of 83 years 10 months and 5 days. Paul and the former Ms. Patsy Fay Driver were married on March 12, 1953 in Gainesville, TX.
Paul grew up in Sulphur, graduating from Sulphur High School in 1952. Following their marriage, he and Patsy made their home in California for a few years, where Paul worked in carpentry, hanging sheetrock. In the late 1950’s, the couple returned to Sulphur where he worked in the oilfield and later for Haliburton Services. Paul spent 15+ years as a self-employed contractor hanging sheetrock. In his spare time, he and Patsy enjoyed traveling. Throughout their marriage, they traveled to all 50 states, as well as to Europe, Canada and Mexico. He also enjoyed rabbit hunting with his “Racing Gray Hounds.”
Survivors include his wife, Patsy; two daughters, Jeanie Jennings and Paula Thomas & husband Bo; four grandchildren, Jeff Jennings & wife Jodi, Crystal Thomas, Levi Thomas & wife Beth and Josh Jennings & wife Sari, all of Davis; seven great-grandchildren, Jaylee & Jett Jennings, Paden, Schane & Jason Thomas and Jax & Jenner Jennings; as well as two sisters, Louann Bonham & husband Gene of Davis and Wanda Spitler of Allen, OK.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by one brother, Clifford Gray; son-in-law, Roger Jennings; as well as two nephews, Allen Gray and Kevin Bonham.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Jennings, Crystal Thomas, Levi Thomas, Josh Jennings, Chuck Bonham and Tim Moore.
