Patricia J. “Pat” Norrell
Patricia Jeanne Norrell, 78, of Davis, passed away April 14, 2014. She was born in Paoli, OK on October 8, 1935 to Charlie and Zealand Osborne. Pat was a member of the 1954 graduating class of Davis High School. She married Fred Hilliard Norrell on December 18, 1954, and were married 54 years at the time of his death on June 11, 2008.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, AnnVeta Allen of Ada, OK; brothers, Jack Osborne and Ronnie Osborne of Davis; and a grandson Tye Nesmith of Ardmore.
Pat is survived by her sisters Marita Lewis of Davis and Jonna McClendon of California; four children; son, Richard Norrell and his wife Brenda of Ardmore; son Lanny Norrell of Davis; son Kevin Norrell of Moore, OK; and daughter Malea Norrell-DeSeguirant and her husband David of Magnolia, AR; grandson Casey Norrell and his wife Hayley of Fox, OK; grandson Brian Nesmith of Davis; grandson, Jeramy Nesmith and his wife Jennifer of Wilson, OK; grandson Jason Norrell of Yukon, OK; grandson Tyler Norrell of Davis; grandson Matthew DeSeguirant of Magnolia, AR; great grandson Ryland Norrell of Fox; great granddaughter Alexandria Norrell of Duncan, OK and a great grandson, soon to be born.
For many years, Pat worked as a freelance photographer at weddings, tee ball games, high school graduations, and many other events. She was also an artist, architect, and carpenter. As a lover of history, she published books about her family genealogy and local cemeteries, and contributed many years to the Davis and Sulphur Historical Societies, helping them establish the Arbuckle Historical Society Museums in both cities. Her awards include “Who’s Who Among Davis Women” presented by the B & P W Club in 1995; the “Oklahoma Heritage Distinguished Service Award for Preservation of State and Local History” presented by the Oklahoma Heritage Association in 1998. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Davis Chamber of Commerce in 1988.
She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and her little dog, Chachi.
