June 4, 1932 — May 1, 2021

Funeral services for Olga Hazel Jones will be held 2:00PM, Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis with Pastor Tony Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

Hazel was born June 4, 1932 in Tulsa, OK to the late John E. and Rose Etta (Freeman) Williams. She died Saturday, May 1, 2021 in Sulphur, at the age of 88 years, 10 months and 27 days. Hazel and Bobby Ray Jones were married on Aug 21, 1950 in Gainesville, TX. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2012.

Hazel grew up in the Joy and Woodland areas. Following their marriage, she spent several years as a stay-at-home mother, caring for her children; as well as assisting Bobby with his jewelry stores. Later, Hazel worked as a Psychiatric Aide at the Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, prior to returning to the Davis area. For the past 30 years, she worked with her son and husband at Jones Jewelry of Davis, as well as, assisted in the management of the Arbuckle Mountain Motel, owned by her daughter.

Hazel was a very devoted Christian. She loved reading her Bible and witnessing to those she came in contact with. She was very much a people person; therefore, sharing the Word of God with others came naturally. Hazel had a love for children. Be it her own grandchildren, children in the church or around the community, she loved each of them and they could easily feel her love for them. Hazel enjoyed collecting rock and being outdoors admiring natures beauty.

Survivors include two daughters Judy (Jones) Johnson and husband Eddy of Davis; Carolyn (Jones) Morgan, of Davis; two sons, Jack Jones & wife Kay of Davis and John Jones & wife Loretta of Ardmore; twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Laura Williams of Davis; as well as numerous niece and nephews, including one very special “sister-like” niece, Rose Gwendoyln McLaughlin.

In addition to her parents and husband, Hazel was preceded in death by one grandson, Steven Jones; one granddaughter Jennifer (Powell) Vaughn; and her eight siblings, Arles Williams, Jean Lack, Bonnie Clemons, Myrtle Simpson, Marie Eppler and three infant brothers.
