Melinda Jane McCracken was born January 15, 1955, in Sulphur, OK to the late Wallace and Edith (Cogdill) Williams. She died Wednesday, September 15, 2021, in Sulphur, at the age of 66 years and 8 months.
Melinda grew up in Sulphur. Following high school, she spent several years working at the Sulphur Sewing Factory. In 1991, she began working for the Excel Company in Sulphur, which later relocated to Ardmore and became Southwest Silicon Technologies, where she retired after 20+ years.
Melinda was a very fun, adventurous person. She enjoyed doing any type of arts and crafts, including sewing and making jewelry. Being a very giving individual, once she completed a crafting project, rather than selling the finished product, she lovingly gave it to a family member, a friend or someone in need.
Melinda was a very proud mother. Her support and loyalty to her children were unwavering. She was also a very loyal friend. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, and making candy during the Christmas season.
Survivors include her daughter, Edie McCracken of Hays, KS; son, Wally McCracken & wife Jennie of Altoona, IA; one grandson, Roderick “Rory” McCracken; three sisters, Ramona McCall of Sulphur, Janet Jones & husband Benny of Ada and Sharron Reich & husband Jim of Washington, OK; two brothers, Harrold Williams & wife Summer of Mill Creek and Kevin Williams & wife Heather of Purcell; her sister-in-love, Vivian Quistain of Sulphur; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, including her beloved nephew, Jason Sudderth & wife Deana of Coweta.
In addition to her parents, Melinda was preceded in death by one sister, Anita Parks; and one brother-in-law, Ron McCall.
A graveside memorial service will be held in the near future.
Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.
