Funeral services for McCannon “MC” Miles will be held 2:00PM, Thursday, May 5, 2022, at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel, in Davis, with the Reverend Jerome White officiating. Interment will follow at the Five-Mile Cemetery in Hennepin.
MC was born October 29, 1936, in Elmore City, OK, to the late McCannon & Alena (Avriett) Miles, Sr. He entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 25, 2022, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 85 year. MC and the former Ms. Willie Faye (Breath) Giggers were united in marriage on May 3, 1986, in Oklahoma City.
MC grew up in Elmore City. At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, uniting with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Elmore. During the earlier years of his elementary education, MC attended Avriett View School, at Katie, which was founded by his great-grandfather, Thomas Avriett. Later he attended Bryant Elementary in Elmore City and completed high school at Tatums, graduating in 1954. Following high school, he joined the United State Army. After devoting four years of service to our country, MC returned to Oklahoma and began a lifelong career in concrete construction, working with Lippert Brothers and Cantera Construction companies.
In addition to working in construction, MC spent his life chasing rodeos, where he competed in calf roping. He very much loved the sport of rodeoing, which led him to make countless dear friends throughout the years. MC also enjoyed fishing and hosting family and friend gatherings. He was an extremely outgoing individual, who never met a stranger. To know MC Miles was to love him. May you rest easy now “Cowboy.”
Survivors include his loving wife, Willie Faye; son, Carlos Ramon Miles & wife Jamila of Spencer, OK; daughter, Tevaner Bradford of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren, Lakeisha Bradford, Demekedric Bradford, Shemar Bradford, Santrise Miles, Dashontria Miles and Karma Avery; three sisters, Elizabeth Smith of Duncan, Alma Prince of Moore, and Dr. Erma Glass & husband Raymond of Duncan; one brother, Deacon Earl Miles of Wynnewood; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends including his dear rodeo friend, Wallace Edwards, whom he considered to be a brother.
In addition to his parents, MC was preceded in death by one son, Erwin Giggers: and two sisters, Rever Phillips and Wardree Stevenson.
