Mary Kathryn Lail

Graveside services for Mary Kathryn Lail will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, December 2, 2019 at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur, with Pastors Robert Green and Willard McCartney, Jr. officiating.

Mary was born November 13, 1925 in rural Murray County, OK to the late Robert Readen and Mary Marie (Daugherty) Herring. She died Wednesday, November 27, 2019 in Mustang, OK, at the age of 94 years and 14 days.

Growing up in Murray County, Mary attended school at Joy. She was always an exceptional, caring woman. Her desire to care for others led her to a career in nursing. She spent many years working as a Nurse’s Aide in several area health care facilities, including the Sulphur Veteran’s Center, Artesian Nursing Home and local home health agencies. Mary was a devoted Christian lady. She dedicated much of her time to assisting with church functions, cooking meals for the sick and helping those in need. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed tending to her flowers and sewing. She was a member of the Abundant Life Church of Sulphur.

Survivors include her four children, Carolyn (Lail) Fisher of Wheatland, OK, Kathy Cottrell of Sulphur, Deborah K. Overvig & husband Gary of Mustang and Ronnie Lail & wife Janet of Mustang; 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Carl Herring.
