Mary Elizabeth Richardson

Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Richardson will be held 2:00PM Monday, May 22, 2017 at the Dougherty Baptist Church with Pastor Alan McCoy officiating. Interment will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood.
Mary was born April 22, 1945 in Covina, California to the late Foster W. & Olive Cordelia (Jenkins) LaMascus. She died Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in Oklahoma City at the age of 72 years and 24 days. Mary and Allen D. Richardson were married on May 31, 1963 in Elmore City, OK.
Mary grew up in the Elmore City area. She was a 1963 graduate of Elmore City High School. She later attended East Central University, graduating in 1974 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. In 1978, she earned a Master’s Degree in Education from East Central. Mary spent twenty years as an educator, with two years at the Norman Public Schools and 17 years with the Davis Public School System. Following her retirement from Davis Schools in 1990, Mary worked as a counselor for the Oklahoma Prison System, working with female inmates. During her retirement years, she owned and operated The Sampler Craft Store and the Specialty Bakery of Davis from 1997 until 2000. In her spare time, she enjoyed working with the Murray County Historical Society as well as cooking and baking sweet for friends and family. Mary was a member of the Dougherty Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Allen; two sons, Mark Richardson & wife Barbie of Davis and Randy Richardson & wife Sally of Orlando, OK; five grandchildren, Brad, Zach, Emily, Thomas, Abigail and Anna Richardson; two sisters, Virginia Wingo of Davis and Jeanne Fischelli of Garland, TX; one brother, Tommy LaMascus & wife Pat of Wynnewood; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, O.C. and John LaMascus.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Davis Public Schools Art Department.
