Marvin Edward Wallace was born October 12, 1949, in Pauls Valley, to the late Benjamin & Era (Brokeshoulder) Wallace. He died on Thursday, August 29, 2024, in Sulphur, at the age of 74. Marvin and the former Ms. Ruby Mae Amos were married on April 19, 1969, in Ada.
Marvin was a lifetime resident of Murray County. After attending high school in Sulphur, he began working at area rock quarries. He later worked for the Murray County Commissioners and the C.M. Mays Lumber Company. At the time of his death, Marvin was maintaining the Wishy Wash Carwash on the east side of Davis.
Marvin was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. He spent much of his time serving the Lord as a deacon at the New Hope Baptist Church in Sulphur. He was very proud of his Choctaw Heritage and traveled around singing for church services and funerals in native tongue. Marvin was an avid fan of softball and faithfully participated in church league games. He loved spending time at the lake with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby; two daughters, Rena Castillo & husband Mario, and LaDonna Cornell; four sons, Richard Wallace, Evan Wallace & wife Gaylene, Lance Wallace, and Chance Wallace; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by one daughter, Tracy Wallace; two sons, Kevin and Marvin Wallace, Jr.; as well as his twelve siblings.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the Sandy Baptist Church, with Reverend Steve Wall officiating. Interment will follow at the Sandy Baptist Cemetery.
