Marvin Ray Lewis was born September 17, 1945 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to Randall and Emaline (Ebohotubbie) Lewis. He passed away Monday, August 20, 2012 in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 66 years 11 months and 3 days.
In 1965, Marvin graduated from Haskell Indian Institute in Lawrence, Kansas. He furthered his education at Engineering Technology School in Englewood, California in electrical trades and UCLA. Marvin was employed as an electrician at Uniroyal/Michelin Plant in Ardmore for 35 years. He and Marilyn J. Cravatt were married July 30, 1965 in Broken Bow. He was an artist and craftsman, doing beadwork, jewelry and painting. In his leisure time, Marvin enjoyed Internet Poker and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of N. E. Baptist Church in Ardmore.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Cecil Lewis; and one sister, Rhonda Lewis.
He is survived by wife, Marilyn; son, Myron Lewis of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; daughters, Mynyown Lewis and Marissa Lewis, both of Ardmore; brothers, Virgil Lewis of Clarksville, Arkansas, Daniel Lewis of Oklahoma City, Matt Lewis of Broken Bow, Ronnie Lewis of Broken Bow and Nathan Lewis of Idabel, Oklahoma; sisters, Rita Watson of Broken Bow, Ramona Lewis of Broken Bow, Gearaldine Smith of Oklahoma City, Regina Flanagan of Broken Bow and Doris Lewis of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Katelynn Lacy, Wesley Harjo, Keaveon Lofton, Taliyah Chenault and Joseph Harjo; as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.
