Marion Edward “Ed” Parks was born May 6, 1943 in Qulin, MO to the late Fred and Della (Ward) Parks. He died Tuesday, February 2, 2021 in Norman, at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 27 days. Ed and Patricia Ann “Pat” Reeves were married on October 1, 1977 in Poplar Bluff, MO.
Ed grew up in Qulin, graduating from Qulin High School, Class of 1961. He spent most of his life working in construction. For the past 40+ years, he worked for Paver, INC of Davis as a foreman.
Ed served on the Davis City Council from 2007 until 2019. While on the council, he also served as Mayor. He was a member of the Midway Hill Baptist Church. Ed lived and breathed his family, his community and his faith.
Survivors include his wife Pat; six children, Michelle Flores of Kansas City, KS, Jeff Parks of Kansas City, MO, Brian Fowler of Como, TX, Brad Fowler of Centerton, AR, Bridgett Miller of Davis and Kayla Parks of Ardmore; seven sibling, Paul Parks, Diane Marsten, Zelma Gordon & husband Raymond, Mary McKelle-Yeley, Carol Maevers, Larry Parks and D.J. Gross; as well as 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by four siblings, Joe Parks & wife Ethel, Ester Grobe, Carrie Parks and Jimmy Parks.
Services will be held 10:00AM, Friday, February 5, 2021 at the Midway Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Willard McCartney officiating.
