Marion Clark

Marion was born Sept 30, 1927 in Davis, to the late T.E & Susan (Adelaide) Davis. She died Tuesday, Jan 5, 2016 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 88. Marion & Melvin Robert Clark were married on Aug. 24, 1948 in Davis, OK. He preceded her in death on Jan 29, 2015. Others preceding her in death include one daughter, Cathy Louise Clark in 2014 and two sisters, Mary Weiss and Susan Badger.

Marion grew up in Davis, where she graduated high school in 1954. After high school, she attended Oklahoma Baptist University where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Music prior to earning a Master’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Oklahoma in 1954. Marion & Melvin’s first teaching job led this young couple to Boise City, OK then to Wayne, OK in the mid 1950’s. From Wayne, they moved to Fredrick, OK and then in the summer of 1966, she & Marion accepted teaching positions at Sulphur, retiring in the late 1980’s. Marion was an exceptional seamstress, an art that she dearly enjoyed. She was an avid follower of OU Football and the NBA.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Lee Clark & wife Michelle of Sulphur and Edward Alan Clark & wife Connie of Bedford, TX; five grandchildren, Janie Lynn Clark, Connie Sue Clark, Carol Ann Clark, all of Dallas, Alena Nikol Clark of Dalhart, TX and Charles Hunter Paul of Los Angeles, CA.
