Marilyn Deloris Hicks

Funeral services for Marilyn Deloris (Percell) Hicks will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Sulphur, with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood.

Marilyn was born June 4, 1933 in Cushing, OK to the late George Washington & Cora Eva (Thomas) Percell. She died Thursday, July 11, 2019 in Davis, at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 7 days.

Marilyn grew up in Cushing, graduating from Cushing Highs School, Class of 1951. Following high school, she attended Draughons School of Business. On June 23, 1952, she married the love of her life, Alfred Hayes Hicks at the Park Place Baptist Church in Cushing. Following their marriage, the couple moved often, due to Alfred’s job with American Telephone & Telegraph. Marilyn and Alfred enjoyed traveling and seeing the country. They had fond memories of their travels to Mexico and Canada. Following his retirement in 1982, they moved back to Davis, where she remained until her death. To Marilyn, her beloved family was most dear to her heart. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting and reading.

Survivors include three daughters, Angelique Holt & husband Michael of Davis, Deborah Mayes & husband Ray of Mustang and Carolyn Sweatt of Mobile, AL; 11 grandchildren, Jason Hicks & wife Becky, Richard Campodonica & wife Leslie, Michael Hicks, Leah Dunaway, Robert Campodonica & wife Courtney, Heather Gullitch, Michael Holt & wife Vicky, Nathan Haupt, Benjamin Holt & wife Jamie, Tyler Morris and Logan Holt; nine great-grandchildren; as well as two siblings, Glenn Edward Percell and Shirley Allene Dethloff.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Alfred on December 13, 2008; and five siblings, Troy Andrew, William Roy, Carmen Lee, Norma Dean and Ronnie Dale.
