Loye Everett "Le" Norton

Funeral services for Loye Everett “LE” Norton will be held 1:00PM, Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the Crossway First Baptist Church in Sulphur, with Pastor Bill Leveridge officiating. Interment will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.

LE was born October 18, 1939 in Pampa, TX to the late Tobie Loye and Minnie Alta (Fultz) Norton. He went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 15, 2019 in Shawnee, at the age of 79. LE and Ms. Micheal Ann Moore were married on April 30, 1966 in Empire, OK. She preceded him in death on June 29, 2010.

LE grew up in the Duncan/Velma area. He was a 1957 graduate of Duncan High School. Following high school, he joined the United States Army. Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, LE returned to the Duncan area, where he spent several years working in the oil field. In the mid 1970’s he went to work as a machinist for Haliburton, retiring after 25 years with the company. During his retirement, he spent several years working in maintenance at the Artesian Nursing Home in Sulphur. LE also worked as a Reserve Deputy for the Murray County Sheriff’s department from 1979 until 2004. Anyone that knew LE Norton knows that fishing his most favorite hobby and he did so as often as he could. He also enjoyed wood crafting. LE loved his family greatly and cherished spending time with them, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include one daughter, Vicki Lyn Hodge and husband Mike of Effingham, IL; two sons, David Norton & wife Jenny of Davis and Aron Norton of Sulphur; six grandchildren, Paige Leigh Ann Norton, Zakyah Rayn Tiger, Micheal Zane Norton, Heather Michelle Davis, Kristen Ann Hodge and Courtney Marie Hodge; several great-grandchildren; as well as one brother, Aubrey Norton & wife Nancy of Lawton.

In addition to his parents and wife, LE was preceded in death by one brother, Alton Norton.

Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Hobbs, Butch Hill, Stanley Vernon, Van Stacey, Mark Landers and Mike Hodge.
