Louis Gene Coberley



Louis was born Feb 17, 1945 near Kellyville, OK to the late Andrew Jackson & Henrietta (Baumgardner) Coberley. He died Monday, Aug 31, 2015 in Sulphur at the age of 70. Louis and Janice Wallace were married on Mar 16, 1984 in Stillwater.

Growing up, Louis lived in several towns, due to his father’s job; however, he always considered Sulphur to be home. He served in the United States Army in the early 1960’s. Louis spent several years working in the oil field. In 1995, he began working for the Oklahoma School for the Deaf as a custodian, retiring in 2009. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and reading.

Survivors include his wife Janice; three daughters, Sandy Coberley and Carrie Coberley, both of Enid and Laura Eaves of Sulphur; four sons, Bobby Coberley of Denver, Jesse Coberley of Ponca City, Tirrell Coberley of Sulphur and Paul Coberley of Ada; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Berryhill of Keystone and Janet Greene of Ardmore; four brothers, Wayne Coberley of Moore, Dennis Coberley of Woodward, Neil Coberley of Sulphur and Steve Coberley of Sulphur; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Vickie Lee Coberley; son Joshua Coberley; as well as an infant brother, Billy Ray Coberley.
