Loretta Raye Waters

Graveside services for Loretta Raye (West) Waters will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis with Brother Gary Fielding officiating. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Paul Pullen, Ben Randall, Kel Owens and Matt Stewart.

Loretta was born August 20, 1937, in Davis, to the late John Alva and Malissia Mae (Pitchford) West. She died Friday, July 30, 2021, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 83. Loretta and Guy Victor Waters were married on November 28, 1963, in Davis. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2006.

Loretta grew up in Davis, graduating from Davis High School, Class of 1955. Following high school, she spent a few years working for Oklahoma Natural Gas, prior to becoming employed with the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Loretta spent 30+ years working for the telephone company, retiring in 1999.

Loretta was a very soft-spoken, kindhearted lady. She spent her life in service to her beloved Savior and church. She was an accomplished pianist and organist, playing in the church for many years. Loretta was very devoted to her children and grandchildren, cherishing every moment they had together. In her spare time, she enjoyed tending to her yard and flowers, sewing, and visiting with her beloved family and friends.

Survivors include one son, Michael Waters of Davis; daughter, Robin Waters Bachmann & husband Christopher of Edmond; four grandchildren, Grant Waters & girlfriend Claudia Valderamma, Dexter Waters & girlfriend Mayra Silva, Stormi Waters and Katie Munda & husband Matthew; two great-granddaughters, Mysti Waters and Olivia Munda; one sister, Ramona West Petty of Davis; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Loretta was preceded in death by her brother, Alva Lou West.
