Linda D. Kennedy
Linda Darlene Kennedy was born January 19, 1948, in Duncan, OK, to the late Earl Richard and Viola Kate (Hobbs) Eaves. She died on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, in Davis, at the age of 76. Linda and Wendell Dean Kennedy were married on October 18, 1968, in Gainesville, TX. He preceded her in death on January 31, 1997.
Linda grew up in Hennepin, attending school at Hennepin and Woodland. She devoted the earlier years of her married life to being a homemaker, caring for her two sons. She later worked at several area restaurants and nutrition centers as a cook.
Linda was a very strong lady. She faced cancer five separate times, receiving a clean bill of health on four of those battles. She received the ultimate healing with her final battle from the Great Physician, Christ Jesus.
Linda was a quiet individual. She often said little, but when she did, one better take heed to what she had to say. She was an avid fan of Donna Fargo. It was said "if momma started playing Fargo music, it was time for the boys to go fishing. That meant she was upset or in the mood to clean. Either way, it was best to get out of the house."
Linda loved her family. Spending time with them brought her great joy. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing and dancing.
Survivors include her two sons, Wendell Kennedy, Jr & wife Jeri of Ardmore and Earl Kennedy & Stacie of Mead; four grandchildren, Ryan Kennedy & wife Michelle of Colorado, Amber Kennedy & fiancé Billy of Gatesville, TX, Brandon Mullens & wife Tyanna of Durant, and Ella Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Paisley, Blake, Raena, Brantlee, Addley, Jerecho, Mikayla, Jaidin, Titus, and one on the way; two brothers, Dean Eaves & wife Christy of Davis and Rickey Eaves McAlester; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Linda was preceded in death by her beloved companion of 16 years, Glen Keena; two brothers, Roy, and David Eaves; granddaughter, McKenzie Kennedy; and nephew, Cody Eaves.
