Lillie Bernice Sloan

Lillie Bernice Sloan was born April 12, 1926 in Seminole, Oklahoma to the late Grover and Maggie (Casteel) Hail. She died Monday, December 3, 2012 in Ardmore at the age of 86 years 7 months and 21 day.

Lillie and Franklin Pierre Sloan were married on September 11, 1948 in Gardenville, Nevada. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2004. Others preceding her in death include three brothers: Hubert, Russell and Kenneth Hail.

Bernice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who spent her life caring for her family. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and in earlier years, oil painting. Of all the enjoyments she found in her life, her family was the greatest. She loved spending time with each of them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lillie was a devoted member of the Vinita Avenue Church of Christ.

Survivors include her three sons, Lynell Sloan & wife, Lois, Larry Sloan & wife, Trisha, both of Sulphur and Randy Sloan & Donna of Ringling; eight grandchildren, Chris, Cody, Chad, Jason, Bridget, Josh, Lacey and Kristi; 15 great-grandchildren, Braelynn, Caden, Payton, Blake, Kelsey, Madison, Asa, Samuel, Jerritt, Jaxon, Jazmin, Kalie, Kerrington, Harley and Scarlet; as well as two brothers, Bill Hail & wife, Barbara, and William Hail & wife, Judy, and one sister, Mary Casey & husband, Elmer.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home in Sulphur.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial be made to the Vinita Avenue Church of Christ, 1113 W. Vinita, Sulphur, OK 73086
