Funeral services for Lenora Isabel Cody were held 10:00AM, Friday, October 6, 2017 at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Sulphur with Pastor Bill Leveridge officiating. Interment followed at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.

Lenora was born February 5, 1935 in Bromide, OK to the late William Egene & Bertha (King) Parnell. She died Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in Sulphur, at the age of 82.

Lenora grew up in the Bromide area. Following her 1956 graduation from Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur, she worked for Stin-Tex drycleaners in Ardmore. It was while working at the drycleaners that she met her soon to be husband, Robert F Cody, Sr. On April 6, 1958, they were married in Okmulgee. Throughout her married life, Lenora was a stay at home mother, caring for her family. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, gardening and reading.

Survivors include two daughters, Angelina Sue Cole & husband Brooks of Sulphur and Judy Sally Henry & husband James of Holdenville; one son, Robert Cody, Jr & wife Melanie of Meriden, KS; eight grandchildren Tiffany, Emmy & Ally Cody, LaChelle Cowan & husband Brandon, Darren & Alexandra Cole, Kyla Beasley and Forrest Henry; eight great-grandchildren; one brother Willie Parnell & wife Wilma of Ardmore; and one niece, Stephanie Webb & husband Randy.

In addition to her parents, Lenora was preceded in death by her husband Robert on May 26, 2002; one grandson, Zac Blackburn on February 10, 2012; and her sister, Leona Stephens & husband Robert.
