LaVoy Eggleston
Graveside services for former Davis resident, LaVoy Eggleston, will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 11am at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr officiating.
LaVoy was born in Oklahoma City on May 5, 1937 to Clarence & Aline Eggleston. LaVoy was the youngest of seven children, five boys; Gene, Bill, Bob, Tommy, Troy and two girls; Norida and herself. She was born a twin to her brother Troy. Troy sadly passed away at the age of 4 months to pneumonia and was buried in Davis. The family moved to California when LaVoy was approximately 4 years old. LaVoy attended Narbonne High School in Lomita. She graduated in 1956. After high school, LaVoy became a Nurses Aid and worked for a community hospital and convalescent home for 30+ years. In 1992, her Aunt Blanche Warren Johannesson became ill, LaVoy moved to Davis, to care for her until she passed in June 2000. At that time, LaVoy moved back to California with her sister Norida. Sadly, LaVoy’s health took a turn in November 2018 and continued to decline until she passed February 17, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Bob and Troy Eggleston. She is survived by her brothers Gene and Tommy Eggleston, and her sister Norida Daugherty.
