Graveside services for Laura Belle Hock will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr. officiating. .

Laura was born Feb 13, 1928 in Washita, OK, to the late Walter Cleve & Alberta Blanche (Riley) Courtney. She died Saturday, May 31, 2014 in Davis, at the age of 86 years 3 months & 18 days.

Laura grew up in west Texas in the Loraine area. She worked as a cook in restaurants. She and her husband, Jake, moved to Davis in the late 1970’s to care for her parents. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, sewing and most importantly, “keeping her family in line, especially her brothers.

Survivors include two daughters, Connie Duvall & husband Jack of Grand Prairie, TX and Katy Morgan & husband Leon of Arkansas; brother, Bill Courtney & wife Martha of Sulphur; sister-in-law, Velta Courtney of Roff; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.T. “Jake” Hock; son, Virgil; daughter, Marsha; and three brothers, Jim, Wayne and Kenneth Courtney.
