Larry D. Boyd

Larry D. Boyd was born May 14, 1949 to George I. and Thelma (Pierce) Boyd in Granfield, Oklahoma. He passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012 in Sulphur, at the age of 62 years, 9 months and 26 days.

He served in the U. S. Marine Corp Infantry during the Vietnam War where he was wound in action on January 13, 1968. Larry later retired from the military. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from U.S.A.O. in Chickasha and worked for the Internal Revenue Service. He and Ruth A. Benson were married August 11, 1972 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Larry was a member of Disabled American Veterans.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, George and Thelma Boyd; sisters, Rose Fridley and Jackie Palmer; and brother, David Boyd.

He is survived by one son, Larry D. Boyd II of Sulphur; two daughters, Kimberly A. Morrison and Tiffany M. Smithers both of Ukiah, California; step-parents, Gloria and David Moore of Sulphur; six grandchildren, Kade W. Boyd, Logan Morrison, Ethan Morrison, Casey Morrison, Tessla Wiley and Dalton Boyd; brothers, Charley Boyd, Ronnie Boyd, Russell Hudson, Denny Boyd and Darren Boyd; sisters, Phyllis Woodall, Kay Uresti, Jenny Vallo and Janine Smith.
