Funeral services for Kenneth Wayne Carter were held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr. officiating. Interment followed at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

Kenneth was born Aug 6, 1939 in Wynnewood, OK to the late Ibra Preston & Anna Darcus (Tarter) Carter. He died Friday, May 9, 2014 at his home in Davis. Kenneth was 74 years 9 months & 3 days old.

Kenneth grew up in Davis where he graduated from high school in 1957. After serving in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, Kenneth returned home and worked for the Preston Carter Oil & Gas Co, owned by his father. He also worked as the City Manager for the City of Davis for several years. In his spare time, Kenneth enjoyed going to Horse Races, playing dominos and in younger years, riding horses.

Survivors include two daughters, Vickie Carter Frazier of Davis and Karen Sue Stowers & husband Doug of Madill; two sons, Jimmy W. Carter and Brian Sanders; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as one brother, Billy Ray Carter of Tulsa.

Along with his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Carter.
