Karen “Sue” (Roberts) Lassiter was born September 29, 1942, in Modesto, CA to Glen Hartwell & Joyce Willeta (Rutherford) Roberts. She passed peacefully in her sleep February 26, 2025, in Howe, Texas, at the age of 82.
Sue graduated from Davis High School in 1960. She worked in computer manufacturing for several different companies over the years. She married the love of her life James Robert Lassiter on February 27, 1976. She passed 1 day prior to their 49th wedding anniversary.
Sue enjoyed riding motorcycles and camping with her husband and son Bryan throughout Texas. She enjoyed spending time at their lake house fishing and boating, especially when her brother & family, son, and grandchildren were around. She loved traveling with her husband all over the US and was up and ready at the spur of the moment.
Sue was a phenomenal cook and if you were around, she wanted to cook and feed you. She was known to make her famous chocolate chip pie that her grandchildren would fight over. Sue was an extremely organized woman, and you could tell by the way she kept her home. She enjoyed working in the yard outdoors and taking care of her plants. She enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels out her kitchen window. She enjoyed life to the fullest, especially when family was around. Sue loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sue is survived by her loving husband, James, and stepchildren James (Jimmy) and Sanja Lassiter-Sisk; son, Bryan Hefley & wife Crystal; grandchildren, Austin Hefley & wife Kelli, Kelsey Hefley, BJ Dobbs & wife Anna; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kenzi, Kamryn, Kenna and Rose; sister-in-law Pam (Henley) Gibbs; niece, Lacey Britian & husband Sage (Cash & Case) & nephew, Lee Henley & wife Amanda (Jesse & Emerson).
She is proceeded in death by her parents and brother, Bruce Henley.
Sue was very much loved and will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held April 11th, 2025, at Hale’s Memorial Chapel, in Davis, OK, at 1:00pm.
Services are “entrusted to” Hale’s Funeral Home of Davis.
